Rapid Growth Despite Terrible Economy

Goals:

Katie Ihndris, MD CPA

Acquired Over $250,000 in New Business Despite Soft Economy

Going into 2008, Katie’s top three goals were:

  • Increase firm revenues by at least $100,000 each year
  • Maintain or increase firm margins
  • Improve client mix – reduce 1040s while increasing business clients

Background:

Katie started her own accounting practice in 2005 and gradually grew it to over $100,000 in fees despite living in a rural location. The practice was efficient and margins were well above industry averages. Her practice had created a firm culture of not working weekends or evenings and she intended to keep a balanced lifestyle.

The marketing for Katie’s practice had been very limited (mostly referrals) but was working. However, the growth was much slower than she wanted.

Katie’s family was supportive of her goals and aspirations for growing the practice. According to Katie, “I had a vision for the practice that I wanted to create but needed the tools and guidance to turn my vision into reality in a more timely fashion.”

Results:

“I am pleased to report that my goals have been exceeded and my outlook could not be more positive,” said Katie. “I have acquired well over $250,000 in new business after two years in BYF's Quarter Million Dollar program. My prospects in the pipeline (clients not yet closed) are outstanding."

“While I now trust BYF’s marketing and practice management system, I must admit that I had my doubts and reservations. To give you some perspective, it took me over two years of talking to BYF’s Account Executive, Nita Sabo, before I ultimately decided to attend BYF’s Accounting Marketing Workshop. And after I enrolled in the Quarter Million Dollar program, I wanted immediate results given my personality and expectations. However, the initial marketing campaigns started slowly and I wasn’t excited. In fact, I probably would have given up after the first month, drawn the conclusion that Hugh doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and concluded that BYF’s program doesn’t work. But, by sticking with the program, I found that the leads take more time to close than I realized and by accumulating a pipeline of prospects and staying in touch with them, one could soon start to acquire clients steadily.” In essence, the snowball started to roll down hill slowly at the onset of the Quarter Million Dollar program and has gradually grown larger and larger each month.

“The nice part of BYF’s approach is that I have incorporated their practice management program into my practice and it is much easier to manage my business now. I have streamlined everything from how to request and track work flow, to adding more systems for billing and collection. Doing this has provided me with more time to focus on my clients needs. I recommend BYF’s Practice Management program to ALL accountants.”

Based on my experience with this program, “I highly recommend BYF’s Quarter Million Dollar program to accountants that want to acquire $100,000 of new business annually. BYF has exceeded my expectations, continues to improve their system, and I trust them.”

They truly can help you Work Smarter, Not Harder.
