At the end of the Quarter Million Dollar Program, Johanna’s goals are to:

- Develop the accounting practice as a business (e.g., staff working more hours than mine, secure a balanced lifestyle to myself) supported by efficient workflow processes and business practices that yield higher productivity rates.
- Grow to a client base of at least 100 business clients and 200 individual clients.
- Have a net profit of at least $140,000.

Background
 Johanna started her own accounting practice in 2005 after spending four years at KPMG. Her accounting practice was generating $120,000 in gross revenues before she enrolled in Build Your Firm’s Quarter Million Dollar Program.
To develop the practice, Johanna had been using BNI, Chamber of Commerce and referral marketing to generate new leads. And while her close ratio was extremely high, the flow of leads was insufficient to meet her business goals.
To ramp up her marketing, Johanna initially attended BYF’s workshop in Denver (2008) and was very impressed with the marketing system and the work/life balance that BYF advocates. Later that same year, Johanna attended the Dallas workshop with her partner for a refresher and ultimately decided to enroll in the Quarter Million Dollar Program.
Results

“Despite a terrible economy, we have managed to acquire $250,000 in new business over sixteen months. We have been very impressed with BYF’s lead generating capabilities. So much so that we slowed down our marketing and are now focusing on improving our work flow and developing some niches,” according to Johanna.
For me, the BYF Quarter Million Dollar Program has been so much better than acquiring a practice because it provides us with a framework for growing the practice but does not take me away from my core strengths. Also, building a practice using this marketing system enables us to be more selective about which clients we attract and our retention rate will be dramatically longer than acquiring someone else’s practice.
